An iconic photographer of the last century, Henri Cartier-Bresson theorised in particular that a photo must capture oethe decisive momentoe. This Parisian snapshot is one of the most eloquent examples of this. A figure slips out of the frame while its shadow is outlined on the flooded ground, a short-lived mirror. In a strangely similar display, the ballerina featured on the poster in the background also has a watery double. Close to her, the darkness of the railings surrounds the passers-by in a strange fog unconnected to these two mad pursuits.
